Hi, I'm Tao Yu, currently a senior student in Shanghai Jiao Tong University majored in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (ZhiYuan honours programme). I am also a research student in John Hopcroft Center working with Professor John E. Hopcroft and Huan Long. I will be a Ph.D. candidate in CS department of Cornell University.

My primary interest lies in interpretable and robust machine learning, with application in natural language processing and adversary defense. I am excited about developing robust and generalizable algorithms and models using non-Euclidean geometry. Here is my CV.

Recent Projects

Graph is a basic data structure in natural language processing, while many networks have been proposed to handle graph data, most of them inherit unnecessary complexity and redundant computation. To address this, we explore and analyze the mechanisms of commonly used graph networks and simplify the structure and attention accordingly.
