Cyber-physical system (CPS) is in the center of the next industrial revolution. The key novelty of CPS technologies in recent years is accumulating the data of physical systems from the operational technology networks in information technology systems. This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of CPS concept and technologies from bottom to up, including CPS operating systems and end devices programming, wireless networks, cloud and edge computing, data analytics and machine learning, specific application examples and use case scenarios, etc. Additionally, the coursework will integrate above techniques into a hands-on, system project in which students design and build an actual CPS application. The project includes several assignments/ labs with step-by-step tutorials to help students to learn and develop the solution for the CPS application with teamwork (2~3) experience.
