SJTU-THU-PKU Computer Science International Summer School 2023
Introduction
SJTU-THU-PKU Computer Science Summer School 2023 will be launched at Zhiyuan College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, between July 3rd and 14th. The Summer School aims to provide top-notch undergraduate students from China and overseas universities with a platform to gain cutting-edge academic experience and build friendship among the peers.
This Summer School offers two courses, one in Artificial Intelligence and the other in Cryptography in Blockchain, face-to-face lectures given by world leading scientists, and a series of extracurricular activities.

Cryptography in Blockchain

- Yupeng Zhang, Assistant Professor at UIUC.

Yupeng Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). His research is in the area of cybersecurity and applied cryptography, developing efficient and scalable cryptographic protocols to enhance the security and privacy of data and computations in real-world applications. He has been working on zero-knowledge proofs, secure multiparty computations, and their applications in blockchain, machine learning and program analysis. He has published many papers in top security and cryptography conferences including S&P, CCS, USENIX Security and Crypto. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER award, the Facebook Faculty award, the ACM SIGSAC best dissertation award runners-up and the Google PhD fellowship. Before joining UIUC, he was an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering department at Texas A&M. He was a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Dawn Song at UC Berkeley, and he obtained his Ph.D. with Prof. Charalampos Papamanthou and Prof. Jonathan Katz from the University of Maryland.
- Xiao Wang, Assistant Professor at Northwestern University.

Xiao Wang is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Northwestern University. He was a post-doc with Vinod Vaikuntanathan at MIT and Ran Canetti at BU. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland with Jonathan Katz. His research interests focus on applied cryptography, specifically in secure multi-party computation, zero-knowledge proofs, post-quantum cryptography, and oblivious algorithms. He received a Best Paper Award in Applied Cyber Security at CSAW 2015, an iDASH Competition Award in 2015, a Human Longevity Inc. Award for MPC in 2016, an ACM CCS Best Paper Award in 2017, an ACM CCS Best Paper Award runner-up in 2021, an ACM CCS Distinguished Paper Award in 2022, a Google Research Scholar Award in 2023 and an NSF CAREER award in 2023.

Merit-based travel grant is open for application. Applicants will be judged based on CV and letter of recommendation. Upon the completion of the Summer School, awardees will receive the travel grants.
